I believe the VF1000s w/ the ram and vrm heatsink addon kit is the only zalman cooler compatible w/ the g80 series BTW. also it's pretty big and probably still would have the same problem w/ space... lol

What might prove to be a decent idea....just my thought:

Maybe you could take some pictures of your computer, the way it sits, so we can see EVERYTHING, fans...anything you can get a pic of. I personally don't know your case AT ALL....so I'm just taking guesses. I know that Dell puts inferior cooling in their computers....hence why killing the shroud (the plastic thing) was a VERY bad idea. But its simple to fix with some zip ties and a fan.

And there's nothing at all wrong with running your fans at 100% .

I hope you get it working well...looks like it could be a fun project. Definitely nothing super fast, but it should be a good starter computer for you to get your feet wet...with modding and building your own rig. That way next time, you can just buy the parts and build your own .

So yeah I am here now, asking you guys questions. and getting some good info.
Hmm, cheaper than the 8800GT?

Seriously though, why even bother with 8800-class cards? To re-emphasize, you do realize the limitations of your CPU, correct?

Maybe try to return it to EVGA, and exchange it out for something much more appropriate?

Last time I checked.....the 8800GT is a G92 . I'm unsure about the cooling for a GPU, I usually stick to stock...but I'm sure I could find out real quick (thanks OCN).

For $99 after mail-in rebate, think I would have gone this route:

I wouldnt have gone that route if it was $20

He took his friends advice on the card so its not entirely his fault. I have 2 gts because they fit lol!
