What kind of dell model do you have?

I was able to fit a 8800gs (sim in size to GT) 1 slot perfectly.

my case hsa a 120mm over the cpu heatsink and an 80mm addition over the harddrive

That MAY be possible, as i sit here and think but not likley.
But supposing I did get a new mobo ect…I don’t know JACK about BIOS, or software. I assume I cant just put a new mobo in and plug everything back in and presto it works ….can I? cause that woudl be awsome if i could

also are thse dell cases even ATX compatible anymore? They use some pretty weird proprietary crap sometimes.

Also unless the chipset was identicle(and even then it doesn't always work) you'd need to reformat and reinstall windows. *edit* well at least that's been my crappy experience, lol.

YOu get a new motherboard. You install it. It comes with a driver disk. You install it. You restart and bam.. Just make sure everything is hooked up correctly!

Youd have to use a different case.. you see dell uses their own form factor. unlike the standars ATX
