Any guess as to whether this will beat the 4870x2?

Thanks!

hardspell is OK. Better than FUD. 4870x2 will beat GTX280 but GTX280 is one of the best single GPU as of now if you leave the price alone.

I would think that if your ambient is 15 degrees more than mine your load would be in the mid to high 70s. The cards max at 105. You should be fine.
You do not know how reasurring that sounds to me. THANK YOU! I don't plan to overclock the cards so that should be fine. But just to be sure I might get 2 loops later this year. 1 loop for all the graphics cards and another for CPU + chipsets.

Generally speaking, are the only things making noise in a W/C loop the fans and the pump? And is a high performance pump generally noisy like the irritating 780i chipset fan or does it sound like a 120mm fan?

Is fudzilla really that unreliable? Man I read that... But all it seems to do is quote other websites... Does hardspell update itself as frequently as fud? I might read that as well...

I plan to go watercooling with a good graphics card this summer. Probably after Christmas.

I can't hear my pumps, I can hear the 19 fans.

Thats a lot of cooling in that cube!

As a small comparison I have 8 fans and I can only hear the 60mm chipset fan running...

OFF TOPIC: Why can I only have 5 pics per post??

Is there a way to turn off the power-saving mode for clock speeds when idle? I think it's a great feature, and I would use it... but I want control over it! I almost soiled myself when I saw the "actual" idle clocks for the first time. I was all ready to start an RMA, but I benched and saw that the card RULEZ!

Just... need... control... !

I believe they're working on that option in Precision.

That's good. I just ran into my first problem with it: I fired-up AoC this morning, and it was stuck @ idle clocks. Had to restart to get it back to normal. Not even bumping the clocks in RT would push it to kick-in.

I had a couple single-malts last night and went on a photographic expedition of my 280. Here's a picture. Others in my gallery.

GT200b will remove the FP64 (dual-precision floating point operations) shaders in order to decrease die size and allow for higher clocks.

http://www.diskusjon.no/index.php?sh...#entry11526561
http://www.diskusjon.no/index.php?sh...#entry11527080

The FP64 ALUs can't be utilized at the same time as the 240 single-precision shaders used for graphics, so no loss for regular folk I guess. Apparently Folding@Home uses those rather than the FP64 units intended for products like Tesla so it shouldn't suffer.

This has happened twice now. Anyone else dealing with this? I'm going to try the EVGA OC tool; hopefully it's an RT bug, but I don't really see how.

The same guy that wrote RT wrote Precision.
