SLI 9600gt scales really well and costs around $300. i am very happy with the 2 cards @1680x1050. from benches i have seen online(sorry i dont feel like finding the links ) 2 9600gt beat out single card solutions on a 22"-24" monitor but anything over that and 2 9600gt falls short. higher res do better with a single 9800/8800 gtx.

hope this helps

EDIT: you should probably upgrade the CPU before adding another card

well I agree with you. My system is old and I am looking at spending about a grand on a new one. Now I am thinking about graphics cards. Maybe it would just be wise and get the processesor and mobo and ram... all that good stuff first and THEN think about if I need a better card or not.

Haha I will probably have to get a better monitor before I get a better card.

I love meh some SLI. I play at 1680x1050 and SLI is always working pretty good. No complaints besides a few games.
