Default getting a nv4 error someone said it maybe my video card

Ok Im getting this nv4_disp.dll on the blue screen of death or some thing close to that not at home to read it. Anyways I talked to BFG about it and they say its an error that could be from anyhing. Any ways anyone got any ideas it does this blue screen every time I run 3dmark06 and like grid the game. It also seems to run the need for speed games and WoW fine but bench marks and high end games crash tryed turning all overclocks down and still happends. Also tryed new video driver tought about cleaning all drivers off the computer and loading all agian is this a good idea.

It means your overclock is too high and your card shut it self down.

It could be a heat issue have you checked your temps?

Well what nv stands for is nvidia and the disp part means display driver.

So whats happening is your nvidia display driver isnt working. It could be heat, too high of an overclock. Defective card....bad drivers....driver conflict....uhh.

So check your temps, lower your overclock to stock. and re install your drivers and let us know.

I am actually RMAing my 8800GTX tomorrow because of this. I got this error whenever I had an unstable OC. Every time I would find a stable OC, a few weeks later it would no longer be stable and I would have to lower the clock speed. Now over the course of a year it has officially hit the point that it is doing this at stock speeds. So I am sending the card back to EVGA and hoping I don't go through the same thing all over again!! (Although I guess it doesn't matter, I am buying the 4870x2 as soon as it comes out and then I will get rid of my GTX)

The error could be a number of things, but yes, one of which is the card itself. If that is the last thing you can try, RMA it
