I will pick up a GTX 280 when its $399 after MIR or somewhere in that range.

And why wouldn't you pick an 4870 which is cheaper and better?

wow, no offense but u say some serious BS. where in the hell have u ever seen a HD 4870 out perform a GTX 280 in at least 20% of the games out htere. answer never.

don't get me wrong the HD 4870 is a great card.

now how do u thk its even possible for them to make a GTX280GX2 as big as it is and when the chip is about 2.1x of the HD 4870.

HD 4870= 260 mm^2

not too mention the power requirements, there wouldn't be enough room on even a 12" PCB with 2 of those chips. even if they did do a die shrink to 55nm the chips would still be larger than any we've ever seen, besides the current 65nm. u just say a lot of things that aren't logical no offense, and it seems u don't research before u post either
