Default Price drop with release of the 4870x2

What do you guys think a GTX280 will cost after the release of the 4870x2 (considering that (edit) the GTX280 currently goes for as little as $460 on Newegg)?

When will we reach peak oil? How about climate change? Who knows, depends on the final pricing of the 4870 and its performance, only then will Nvidia consider such a move

No, the GTX280.

The reason that I didn't post this in the general section was because I'm asking specifically about the GTX280. Guess it was kind of a stupid question, hehe

The 4870x2 is going to be $499, sorry for the confusion. I was saying that the GTX280 is $460 on Newegg (after MIR).

Based on the info you're giving us... I would expect the slightest of drops to, say, $450, provided that the X2 is the better card (as expected), and is indeed $499 in the retail channels.

Now we just have to wait for a GTX280GX2 (man.. what a mess that name is)
