I'd go for the 260. You have room to get two in future like you said, plus they have more VRAM memory, plus they're a smaller manufacturing process.
__________________2 8800GT's would perform about on-par with a GTX 260, however two 260's would knock the hell out of them. It also depends highly on what games you run. If it was me, I'd get a GTX 260. Then get another one in the soon future.

get the 260 you can oc the hell out of it, especially if you can sell your 2 8800s it will cost you next to nothing to upgrade, then later since you have a sli board you can grab another one
__________________![]() i just replaced 2 3870's with a 280 and i dont regret it at all, besides my next board more than likely being sli instead of crossfire so i can grab another one.

Well I bought the EVGA GeForce GTX 260 Video Card - Superclocked Edition, 896MB GDDR3. I am looking forward to it and figure i can get most of the money for my Two BFG 8800GT's to cover it. I will probably even throw in a few games with it. We shall see. I am very curious to see the benchmarks and compare them. Once I get two GTX 260 it will blow the 8800 away.

I hope you are happy with your GTX 260 but know that it won't beat the performance in most cases of your 8800 GT's SLI'd. Of course now you can go and buy a second 260, so...
