I see Nvidia Vista drivers are still buggy
The drivers that worked for COH don't work for COD4

HI, Grunion, thanks for the effort on those benchies, it sheds a lot of light on the new cards hype.....
It loks like the 8800 series will rule for a long time to come...

Rock on 3870x2

Regards
steve

You should be using 177.39 drivers. For me they gain me around 1k in vantage over the 177.41 and with the .66 well those are garbage. And while gaming the .39s also gain me a couple of FPS.

Really.. the 177.39 are that much better than the .41 in Vantage you got 1000 more points.. thats a pretty big difference..

Hm... I might have to give those 177.39 drivers a try.. just to see..

Here's my results so far with benchies on this GTX260 of mine. So far I really like the card, Runs much much cooler than his.. I have not seen it go above 55C... Once, not once in GRID, or CS, or looping Marks 4 times.. so it's ok so far..

Here is 3DMark06 with GTX 260 Clocked to 648/1405/1215 I've only just started. Got over 10K in Vantage P mode.

http://img504.imageshack.us/img504/6...dmark06dl2.jpg

See those temps with the card Oc'd... shows that it's cooling great. and decently Quiet at 70% also.. lol

Hopefully the replacement XFX sends is a real beast...

How far have you OC'd the 4870? I've read through the 4870 OC thread over @ XS and ~850mhz core ~1100mhz mem seems to be about the best most get on stock Volts... Would be interesting to compare benches @ max OC between the two cards (GTX 260 v 4870).

-EDIT-

Whoops, no more REP + for Grunion...

Have a cookie instead.
