Default My XFX GTX260 vs. my 4870

It arrived today
Nearly 2 quad systems worth of PPD in 1 card, hopefully(and cheaper).
I went with XFX because of the double lifetime warranty, plus I got it a little cheaper due to a NewEgg error

First impression, very nice looking card, runs hot, nearly 90°c under load @ 100% fan speed.
I'll bench it for a few hours, and then swap it to my P5K, where it will assume its F@H duties.

Some pics for your entertainment.

BTW the Coach purse was hush money, just happened to pick it up while I was out today

First bench done, the ever important Crysis bench.

Interesting results, 260 is stock, proc @ 3.4, and 177.66 drivers.

First screens are my 4870 and 4870/50 CF scores, stock speeds, same proc speed.

WOW 90C load at 100% fan?!?!

I thought that my 4870 ran hot on the stock cooler. Doesn't matter though, I have mine under water.

37C idle, 44C load baby!!!!

I wouldn't mind having one of these to play with, not the rock crusher that the 8800GTX was at its debut but still a worthy card nonetheless.

8800GTX best card ever, PERIOD
Wish I would have kept mine.

Yeah the heat is a little on the warm side, might contact XFX and see what's up.

Seems like a decent card so far, but IMO when the card was $450, not worth it.

I'll use this post for all the benchmarks, keep a look out.

All GTX scores will be on the left.

Vantage without the Physics drivers

that's an interesting benchmark:

The 4870 score higher in the SM3 Tests, however the 260 scored higher int he SM2 tests, and overall.

wonder why that is?
