bam there is your stock bios ready to be edited.
Make backups of default before you start editing AND this must be done one card at a time.
When your done editing save it to a floppy,CD,(bootable media) in a bootable iso like these (the dos ones.
Once you boot from it you just type the address in for the modded bios (they give you which address to use..kinda).
Hope this helps. I'll try to find a better guide when i get off from work.
Thanks! +Rep.

Now all I need to figure out is how to dual boot XP on this rig

Pretty sure you have to install XP first, before Vista. There may be some kind of work-around, if you want to get fancy ... and don't mind risking mucking up your install irreparably in the process.

Or just use a second hard-drive. Along with that of course you'd need a BIOS that allows you to specifically select which HD you want to boot from, in which case you'd have to switch back and forth via boot device rather than the windows boot menu. I suspect yours would have this.

Yes, kids, believe it or not, it was not THAT long ago that this feature did not exist on consumer/desktop motherboards

Also, DR, you may want to do some research on whether or not the 7950 actually *IS* bios-volt moddable before you go to all the trouble. Most cards are not, and I don't remember that being one of them. But I could be mistaken.

I'm not sure about your 7950gts, but my evga 7950gt was set for 1.35v as the stock 3d/performance setting and it has an additional 1.45v setting available in the bios. At stock I ran at 650 core and 1600 mem (800x2) or 7900gtx speeds. When I flashed to the 1.45v setting it ran stable at 720mhz. I did put a zalman fc-zv9 cooler on it though, don't think the stock cooler would handle the extra heat....

The Guide I Used

I like brettjv's idea personally given you do not intend to dual boot all the time.

I know that feeling; I had a perfectly stable 3850. I add another one, and all of a sudden, it cannot even do 2 minutes in 3DMark06. Bad card; also RMAing.

Wanna race?!

well... I got the card back, and a new mobo. When I say I got THE card back, i mean it... I'm kinda ticked they sent it right back to me. I even sent a note along w/ it specifically describing my problems w/ it and the many steps I tried to resolve the issue. *sigh*

I'm getting another RMA set up and I'm pretty certain they won't send me back the same card again this time, muhaha.

Since I've got my main rig back up and going this thread will probably be dead until I get a new GPU for my main rig...

Thank you all again for the help. Reps have been dispensed to those that were helpful.

Regards our "race."

Newegg got back the video card. THEY REFUSE TO REPLACE IT!?

Apparently, when you remove a UPC for a NEWEGG rebate, you void the NEWEGG warranty. Accordingly, they will be shipping the card back to me, then necessitating me to send that to Diamond for a new card.

I think you'll win at this point.
