Default BFG Tech And Nvidia

Wow! My faith in BFG Tech and Nvidia in general has been restored. I got my 7900gt over 2 years ago as a birthday gift and I was only turning 14 when I got it so I just threw out the warranty paper and got the shiny graphics card out of the box and threw the rest out.

I never did register it and about a year later I was kicking myself for throwing everything out. Recently the card has been artifacting at stock speeds and lower than stock speeds so I just thought I had to buy a new card, thats why I asked about the 8800gs on here a while ago.

Well today I called bfg just for the hell of it and told them about the problem and not registering it and they said no problem and are starting an RMA right away.

No registration or anything, I was thoroughly surprised when they said they would send me out a replacement card.

Anybody that has RMA'ed a 7900gt, what do they usually send out, I was figuring like an 8600gts or 9600gt but I don't know.

Thats just one more point for bfg

very likely either an 8600 GTS or a 9600 GT... those are pretty much the ones they would give you... maybe an 8800 GS

I got an 8800GTS 640 for mine a month or so ago.

They are the best of the companies; they consider 8600's a down grade.

I am 90% sure you will get a 9600GT, the other 10% of me says 8800 GTS of some sort.

Know I know with evga they only give you a 1 year warranty but if you get someone nice they might do it. Wow that would be great if I get a 9600gt or even an 8800gts!!

Its really nice to see a company who is more worried about keeping customers happy than their bottom line

I would think that they do as long as there aren't obvious signs like scorch marks or something but they don't support aftermarket coolers like evga or xfx.

I doubt if they can really tell you but a different cooler as long as you don't send the card back with it on. Your best bet would be just to call and ask em.

I only waited about 3 minutes and got a really helpful customer service agent who didn't ask anything but my address, name, phone number, and then sent me the rma number.

It doesn't matter whether they send a 9600gt or 8800gt or even 8800gts right now cuz the rest of my system will be greatly holding them back but its always nice to have a much better product than you started with
