My 8800GT with stock cooler idles at 52C. On load, 65C; gaming 70C.
__________________How are these temps? What temps would a HR-03GT provide? What temps would WC provide? (480GTX; look with a Q6600 @ 3.0GHz) The main reason I want to change cooler, is because I want to fold 24/7 next year in my dorm, but the puny fan is so damn loud on the card and my roomates would kill me for it. I'm contemplating getting a HR-03GT and a fan controller, or drop down about $500 for a solid, top of the line WC system... Help!

For stock cooler, those are actually very nice temps, (at least for the single-slot cooler). With my DuOrb, i idle at around 50C and game at about 55-60C.

When I first got my card, I used to idle at 40C. It was during March, so the weather was a little different...

My fan is at 60% now to keep the temp at 52C idle.
