Doing 3.31GHz with the stock heat sink here.

Mainly... If you have the G0 stepping Q6600, just overclock and keep below 71C max load and use no more than 1.5v. If you have a B3 stepping, then 60C~61C is your max with no more than 1.5v.

The GTX260 is my choice when I get funds. I play at 1920x1200 so I'm going to get one as soon as I can, and then get a second for SLI.

TBH, I'll probably wait till the GTX260+ is out. By then the GTX260 will be cheaper, and I can see how much of an improvement 55nm and GDDR5 will bring.

GTX 260 is a better core. The only reason the gx2 benches higher is because it is 2 cores/2 cards in SLI on one slot. I was shopping between these 2 last week and went 260. Made me happeh.

I look at it this way, if someone stuck 4 g80 cores on a PCB so it would outbench a GTX 260 by 10%, would you buy the old tech, because it got a slightly higher score, or stick with the new tech that can support more advanced rendering techniques with it's architecture?

( hypothetical question, not subject to flamage' )
