Default 7900GTX vs 8600GT - Which one?
Nvidia Geforce 7900GTX 512MB TV-Out DVI PCI-Express x16


Gainward GeForce 8600GT 256MB GDDR3, PCI-Express, 1.0ns, 625+/1800Mhz+, Goes Like Hell edition

Which one if theese cards are the better, if so, how much?


Thing is, my friend is trying to sell the 8600GT to me but i dont know much about GFX cards so cant tell if hes right or wrong when he says the 8600 card is alot better then the 7900GTX i have.

No not really, the 8600GT would really be a downgrade. Keep what you have. Your friend is scamming you.

indeed, just in basic stats the 7900gtx is a much better card.

The 8600GTS compares to the 7900GTX yet always lower. I got a monster OC out of mine

8600GT is to the 7600GT levels 7900GTX is a step up.

stick with the 7900 GTX... if you do upgrade, go no less than an 8800 GT

Yeah, if you do upgrade. Get an ATi 4850 or 8800GTS or GT.
