I wonder if the different clock speeds are causing the issue? Have you tried to use Rivatuner to set them? Or overclock them to the same speed?

WOuldn't think it's the different clock speed,s when I go there tomorrow afternoon I can use Rivatuner to set them to be EXACTLY the same, no reason not to.

treat 3dmark 06 like a game and go into nvidia control panel and assign it by itself for the Sli
Nvidia Control panel > Manage 3d settings > Program Settings > SLI Performance mode See what it says there. try that man

When in Sli regardless of the clock speeds. Both gpu's are run at identical core clock speeds. Doesnt matter about the different stock clocks.

What cpu does he have and what speed is it running at ?
Also one is xfx and one is what ? What model names are they as well..

If you have a 2ghz processor.... your score is not getting past 10,000 no matter what kind of setup you have running. go 4way sli and 3 of those cards wont even see your graphics to even try to produce them.
Yes it does matter.... Ive seen everyday people with crap processors bottleneck 3dmark scores and 2.9 is barely cutting it to fully produce even 1 8800GT's maximum scores that the 8800 can produce....even the fact its dual core.... I'm just trying to help.... i'll bud out...  Edit* When i run SLI, it doesnt say im using SLI on my 3dmark either. It only shows 1 8800GT, but when i run the applet. I get the scores. and i get the performance, so i know its there. I wouldnt know how to make 3dmark show i have both cards on the interface.

Grasping at straws here, but did you install 3dmark and the hotfix. Not sure if that would even matter.

You never can tell tho because when your benching everything comes into play.
Whats running in background, ram, other stuffs. Yeah a 2.9 might yield what your saying but also whats the cache size and manufacturer of the proc. I have a quad at 3.6 and my score is 17000-18000 So him on a dual at 2.9 im sorry wont be close to that at all... I think if i remember correctly a few months back when i had my proc at 3.4 and my gcards clocks at stock i was only getting 16,000 on my rig. I don't really care about epeen and im not that type of person im using contrast and compare to help judge where we should be at ....
