Default Di i kill my DVI Port?

Hey OCN,

I today i was using my PC at my aunt house with her moniter (an old 17" CRT) and to get the picture to show up from my 8800GT's i had to shut the moniter off and turn it back on to get picture. The i installed the newest drivers and i got nothing even after resettingthe moniter! So i thought o crap i broke my PC! So i removed my DVi to VGA thingy and pluged it in other port on the top card and it works great. no turning the moniter on and off! So my question is did i kill my DVI port? Thanks for any replys!

yeah. my step-dad will be playing wow and the screen will just go blank for no reason. i can only imagine it has something to do with the DVI to VGA adapter. because his monitor doesnt have a dvi port.

Well when i got back home today i hooked it up to my 22" Dell LCD and i used the DVI ports on both as usual and still no picture out of any of the DVI ports (I tried them all) it only gives me picture till the OS boots up then no picture! SO i used my copy of 64-bit Ubuntu and got all my Data off the HDD and i reformated it and its working great now with a new verson of Windows intsalled!

Yep its working great now that i got it renistalled! It was only getting picture till the Vista Load Up screen went away (Before you login to yoyr Account) and it would lose picture before that but if you clicked in the center where the accouts were it would make the login sound but no picture!
