Angry NVIDIA 9600 GSO problem

allright so i have an 9600 GSO and my motherboard isnt picking it up. I did the drivers for the board and still nothing. i tried doing drivers for the card by nvidia site, by the disc it came with, and by the microsoft driver finder and all of them lead me to a black screen with a cursor in the top left half way throught downloading. If im lucky i can get to the user agreements but then after that it leads me to the "screen O' death" on the other instaler. and if i just restart my computer it freezes while loading at the XP screen. i have an LCD screen right now and tried it on a different screen with the same effects. and i also brought it to the lowest resolution but also to no effect.

any one have a solution??

Do you have the PCI-E set to the primary in the BIOS?

Restart your computer. When the motherboard screen shows up, repeatedly hit the delete key until you enter the bios menu.

or F1 depends of what the setup(BIOS) key is.

It will say something of Video adapter and go too that and select "PCI-e" as main adapter and save and exit

Actually, most BIOS will have an option to enable or disable "integrated" or "onboard" graphics, and you need to disable it.

P43 doesn't have integrated graphics though, so that probably isn't the problem. Still worth looking at though. If that doesn't yield any results, assume your card is dead and RMA it.

Okay. I have been working with this guy, (I know him) and he is using the generic video display drivers that vista installs right away. His problem now is that when he installs the normal drivers, the WHQL release, when he boots up, nothing happens. Putting him into safe mode, then uninstall the drivers works, but that just installs the generic drivers. What now? The card works in other computers, wth is wrong with his?
