8800gt's will get my vote as well..

Even the older reviews hold true now as each driver update are for both cards.....

The 8800GT in SLI are still a great performance setup for todays games... I run everything out there no problem

But if your going with the Q6600 spend the extra 30$ and get the evga 750i

you can ick up 8800GTS 512 for $10 more than a GT now.

That would be a great GPU solution

i noticed people tend to be biased based on their own speculations

not once have i seen an 8800gt sli user say " the 9600gt sli is great "

anyway. i dont think that has any relevance

but. all i can say is that the 9600gt sli isnt a bad setup as long as u got a clockspeed of 3.0ghz + on a dual or a quad. theres an article that i read off a magazine (i wish i can find it) but it said that the scaling on the 9600gt is worth buying. its the only card thats worth buying. but of course thats an old article.

also, like others have said earlier, the price isnt much of a difference in between the cards, id rather get an 8800gt sli set up as well since its about 5-10$ more only.

Ya all the people saying 8800Gt is best :P have the 8800 :S

Seriously for price range in the 100-200 go for the 4850.

http://www.tomshardware.com/charts/g...otals,795.html

i think thats an up-to-date benchmark showing the sum of allllllllll frames per second for all the tests ran

it clearly shows that the 9600gt sli is very close in the 9800gx2/hd4870/8800ultra sli

however. it does show that the 8800gt sli beats it, not by a lot but it does beat it

also this shows that its an effing good deal. u can find a 9600gt after mail in rebate nowdays for like 70$ now

oh. it also looks like its better than the 4850crossfire lmao

Personally If I was ticked off about a past bad computer Id get one from place that you can easily exchange products. This way you can test both cards, benchmark them or w/e you like and this way you can decide which one you want. Also if Im remembering right crossfireing 4870's is mad beastly and there cheap as hell compared to the nvidia counterparts. But im what you can call atm a overclock noob, but do what I said makes sense to me if you can do it.

if the GT is within 15$ of the 9600gt, go with 8800gt SLI.

Also, if you can get an 8800GTS for 10$ more as well, that would also be a better option (8800gt SLI is going to create a ton of heat in the case, have good cooling)

(you can get 8800GTS 512s for 105 shipped at the EVGA Bstock page)

If you can get the 8800gts like he says for that little, I would go sli THAT. You can break 20k with those babies + a q6600.

But btw, 4850 xfire is still pretty smexy if your not biased to it.
