I think some benchmarks I saw a while back basically said:

On the bench, the 6600GT is quite a nifty card. It only ever loses out to the 6800LE on AA and memory bandwidth; if anything, the AF is rather superior. Without AA/AF enabled, the 6600GT kicks the 6800LE all down the line.

not sure about u needing at least a 6800ultra my freind has one and it owns bf2 on all high settings to the point of complete overkill (hes on the forum "Ensavier") so it would be a safe bet that a 6800gt could handle it. I will see if im not wrong when i get the game later this week =P, though i dont belive that it would never dip below 60 fps. Dont know why u picked 60 seeing as though the ilussion of fluid movment is created at 24fps and a human eye if im not wrong can't see any difference after 40ish.(im probably wrong on how much u can see though) a 6600gt should be able to handle BF2 though

oh well everyone thinks im a stoner so mabye its just me with the fps (i knida move slow lol)(though i do know that at the movies the projectors show the movie at 24fps) You could just go for a 6800le and hope to unlock the extra pipes . Costs alot of money to run the best fps on the latest games.
