Default 6800 Vanilla vs. 6800LE

What is the difference, I noticed that at newegg, they only sell Leadtek LE versions of the 6800, what performance difference is there between a 6800 and a 6800LE. Other than the fact that it has 8 extra unlockable pipes (thinking about unlocking them)

You can only unlock the 6800LE to a regular 6800 12/5. The race between a 6600GT and a 6800LE is very close IMO.

People have unlocked all 16 pipes on the 6800LE or they say they have. I think the LE has a lower core clock also, 300mhz instead of 400mhz.

Is that so? 8 pipelines is quite a stretch in my mind lol. I guess it makes sense because of the 68xx series biuld..I guess a 6800 LE would be a good choice...but theres no garuntee, just odds.

EDIT: Gnarely.. *** was that link for? I'm not into dogs as I'm sure no one else is

A word of advice, don't buy anything LE, get the regular 6800 and mod it to a 6800gt.
