I'm getting the leadtek 6800LE, AGP 8X, 128MB. Do you guys think that if I can unlock all 16 Pixel Pipelines, that I can overclock past a regular 6800 Vanilla, or maybe even get to 6800GT?

If I could, how would I go about doing that?

Unlock the extra 4 pipelines and 1 vertex shader then overclock it to 6800GT speeds. It will depend on your cooling thou. You would use a Utility called ''Rivatuner''

6800LE to a 6800GT requires unlocking 8 pixel pipelines and 2 vertex shaders... it's not very probable. It certainly isn't out of the question, but it's not very likely either.

So, Yiffy says 2 vertex shaders, and Inspire says 1.. What is it really?

And, if I unlock 4 pixel pipelines, and 1 Vertex shader, how much of a increase in performance will I gain?

Well, the memory is different, it's DDR instead of GDDR3. You have 8 pixel pipelines, and also less vertex shaders. The GT has 16 pixel pipelines.

WITH a better cooler and some AS5 you should be able to clock the card pretty high, adding ramsinks will help (if the cooler doesnt cover them). The vertex shaders usually unlock pretty easy, but its rare for 8 pixel pipelines to unlock, people usually shoot for 4 (6800 to 6800GT). 8 is quite a bit, and usually they wont operate flawlessly, but theres always a chance.

Good luck with it, but i'd personally save up a bit more money and go for a 6800, a lot more chance of unlocking the 4 pipelines.

The 6800LE has 2 less vertex shaders and the 6800 has 1 less. (less than the GT)

Inspire, he wont hit 6800GT speeds, since the ram is different and it's at 1000mhz and the core is different and at 350mhz.

Hmm.. not just cooling.. they need to not be damaged from the factory. Going from 12/5 to 16/6 didn't make much of a difference for me... bout 100 3dmark05 points..nothing that I think I actually noticed...but I know it didn't help much becasue its really for the resolution and goodies I think. I max on my monitor @ 1024x768 =(
