Not really better than a 8800gt which can be had for ~$100.

The 4850 is almost identical to the 9800GTX. The 4850 is ususally a little bit better, but only by a tiny bit. (sometimes it is a matter of personal preference).

My only complaint about the 4850 is the single slot cooler version runs really hot. Get a double slot cooler if you want to go with the 4850.

NO please don't get that one! Get the 9800GTX+ with the cooler and less power hungry 55nm core!

I think the performance gain a 9800GT or a 4850 has over a 8800GT is enough to warrent spending $65 extra for.

For that price, I would get a 4850.
