Your computer shouldn't be crashing period. Looks like you have a stock CPU cooler that's not doing its job, or you don't have proper air flow in your case and you cant exchange heat efficiently. Whats your case made out of? Case's made with plastic retain more heat.

Would also do the norm if you haven't already. Update your Bios, Chipset and all your drivers. (tip) Do them one at a time after a system reboot, if/when the crashing stops you'll know what fixed it.
No, I realize that my cpu cooler is crap (haven't gotten enough money to replace), I was wondering if we had the same problem with the gpu. You said you had crashes several times a day, so do I, but you said you thought it was because of the gpu. I had thought that my crashes were because of the cpu, but you have good cpu cooling and you still get crashes. So, it would be the gpu mabe? We have similar systems in that we have the same gpu, have 64bit, and quad processors.

My case is aluminum, and the side door is glass, but it is off temporarily with a box fan blowing on it to try to keep it as cool as posible until I upgrade the cooling. Also I have all the latest drivers, and I updated the bios.

Crap, I flashed the bios and I still get them. I'll double check.

Those WERE the temps with the quick mod, before they were nearing 100C. I'm going to eventually cut holes in the glass side and put 2 high cfm fans in it, 1 intake 1 outtake.

Your temps aren't that bad. It doesn't damage the card until running at over 90c and even then you have to run it like that for a while.

Have you tried putting off the aa yet? I noticed (on the demo) crysis was running very smooth maxed out without aa, but when I turned on aa to 2x it stuttered slightly, 4x it stuttered, 8x it turned into a slideshow.... lol

Also did you mess with the settings yet, or are you not getting tearing. It is alot smoother with it on. And they have a setting to make your gpu work faster (if on one moniter) if you switch to 'single monitor performance mode'.

I just noticed I hadn't changed the settings since reloading windows and when I did COH doesn't lag anymore when moving the camera.

Holy **** those temps are high'

I'm not running AA. As for tearing, it looks like some frames got hit by a 12 gage buck shot at times,

I'm not worried about my hardware being damaged I just want **** to start working.

I'm getting more odd problems then just low FPS in games. Like 3dmark06 not running, Crysis Benchmarking not giving readouts, in game audio spikes as if the sound cuts in and out (sound driver is up to date), Guns and items fall half way into the floor (not often) and repeats the sound of it smashing into something for 30sec-1min

For temps (on the gpu), to be on the safe side, anything under 80c is fine, as the threshold before you start damaging the card (if left on that for decent amount of time) is 90c.

Not running AA? You do have a problem then. I've heard from several people with lesser cpu's and such staying over at LEAST 20fps maxed out in crysis at 1080p. As for me, at 720p, I can turn on aax2 and get a slight stutter, but without aa it is perfect.

You are using just one monitor right? If you are it would be worth your time to go to
Quote:
'adjust image settings with preview' then click on the blue underlined 'take me there'
in the nvidia performance tool and go through all the settings listed, using the description for a guide, and making sure you turn on triple buffering, verticle sync, and if you do have just one monitor then 'single display performance mode'.
