No unfortunately not. You are telling the card, via driver hooks, to stay at the specific clocks in whatever profile you specified all the time.

I'll try to see if there's a way tho in RT to "on demand" these settings. There may be a way to initiate the clocks up and down using a shortcut or something but I wouldn't hold out hope.

If I find it I will report it back

Not that I'm aware of Skunk

Not running Vista or Windows 7 I can't say why it won't work and Precision doesn't allow it or rather doesn't give a way to do it.

I'll try to find something but what might be the problem with Rivatuner? How is it not working in Windows 7? Does it not install?

Oh as well I see RivaTuner released a minor revision of 2.21 now which might change the process because I've specifically seen they've changed the way it forces clocks because of problems with users not knowing what they were doing and reporting false bugs.

I've downloaded it and going to install and any changes to the process and I'll update the thread header to show why and how

[EDIT]
I've installed RivaTuner 2.21 and I didn't see any difference in this process and setting it up. If you find you have issues or things ARE different let me know please and I'll help out anyone I can

RT just wont detect the card or drivers on W7.... it tells me i need to disable driver signings but i have tried countless times on start up & it keeps saying it ..

i tried every app config, i uninstalled & re installed it, uninstalled the drivers & re installed, even reseated the card twice...once with RT installed & once without......the same result

its this build of windows, i could take a trip over to vista & enable the setting there but it defeats the object considering i spend most my time on this OS

what gets me is if RT can enable this setting it must be software accessible, which means there must be another way to enable it..?? its not an RT feature is it, its a ''power saving'' setting built into the card...

Skunk.. After some searching you might try this.. It's definately a DRIVER hack and seems by these posts it's in the registry.

Having Windows 7 though I would REALLY WARN you about doing this since I don't have any experience with the product; yet;

I would check to see if you can find the registry keys but I provide this to you for info and maybe we can figure it out.

This is from the EVGA Forums for Dual or Tri SLI config but should work I would think for a single card.. Again USE CAUTION PLEASE

http://www.evga.com/forums/tm.asp?m=...1&key=&#475949

Code:
  1. Disable sli in the Nvidia CPL if you are running sli or tri-sli
  2. Copy and paste the text below the line to a text file and save as a .cmd file.
  3. Execute the file and choose "Force Performance 3D"
  4. Restart your computer
  5. Re-enable sli
Steps 1&5 Are Only If You Have Sli NOTE: (To save with .cmd extention after copying to text document click "save as" and where it says "save as type" choose "all files".Then for "file name" just put a .cmd extention on it.) @echo off color e0 Title Nvidia Performance Level Nforcer :start set destination= set destination2= set destination=%SystemRoot%Force.txt set destination2=%SystemRoot%Force2.txt reg query "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetControlVideo" > "%destination%" findstr/lc:HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetControlVideo "%destination%" > "%destination2%" for /f %%e in (%destination2%) do reg delete "%%e000" /f /V "OverrideMaxPerf" > NUL reg delete "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetServicesnvDevice0" /f /V "OverrideMaxPerf" > NUL cls echo (1)Force Performance 3D echo (2)Disable Performance 3D echo. echo. set perf= set /p perf= Please Choose An Option From The List Above: if "%perf%"=="1" goto perf3d if "%perf%"=="2" goto Disa if "%perf%"=="" goto start goto start :perf3d cls if exist "%systemdrive%users" goto Nonxp for /f %%q in (%destination2%) do reg add "%%q000" /f /V "OverrideMaxPerf" /t REG_BINARY /d "03000000" > NUL goto ques :Nonxp for /f %%q in (%destination2%) do reg add "%%q000" /f /V "OverrideMaxPerf" /t REG_BINARY /d "03000000" > NUL for /f %%i in (%destination2%) do reg add "%%i000" /f /V "PerfLevelSrc" /t REG_DWORD /d "13090" > NUL for /f %%j in (%destination2%) do reg add "%%j000" /f /V "PowerMizerEnable" /t REG_DWORD /d "0" > NUL for /f %%k in (%destination2%) do reg add "%%k000" /f /V "PowerMizerLevel" /t REG_DWORD /d "1" > NUL for /f %%l in (%destination2%) do reg add "%%l000" /f /V "PowerMizerLevelAC" /t REG_DWORD /d "1" > NUL goto ques :Disa if exist "%systemdrive%users" goto vista goto xp :vista for /f %%f in (%destination2%) do reg delete "%%f000" /f /V "OverrideMaxPerf" > NUL for /f %%i in (%destination2%) do reg delete "%%i000" /f /V "PerfLevelSrc" > NUL for /f %%j in (%destination2%) do reg add "%%j000" /f /V "PowerMizerEnable" /t REG_DWORD /d "0" > NUL for /f %%k in (%destination2%) do reg add "%%k000" /f /V "PowerMizerLevel" /t REG_DWORD /d "0" > NUL for /f %%l in (%destination2%) do reg add "%%l000" /f /V "PowerMizerLevelAC" /t REG_DWORD /d "0" > NUL goto ques :xp cls for /f %%f in (%destination2%) do reg delete "%%f000" /f /V "OverrideMaxPerf" > NUL for /f %%m in (%destination2%) do reg delete "%%m000" /f /V "PerfLevelSrc" > NUL for /f %%n in (%destination2%) do reg delete "%%n000" /f /V "PowerMizerEnable" > NUL for /f %%o in (%destination2%) do reg delete "%%o000" /f /V "PowerMizerLevel" > NUL for /f %%p in (%destination2%) do reg delete "%%p000" /f /V "PowerMizerLevelAC" > NUL goto ques :ques cls erase /q "%destination%" > NUL erase /q "%destination2%" > NUL cls echo You Will Need To Restart Your computer For Changes To Take Effect. echo. echo. echo. echo. set rest= set /p rest= Would You Like To Restart Now? Thanks for the offer, Icti. Basically, I've been using EVGA Precision for my GPU overclocking because it's pretty n00bproof. I also went through this extended process of making my overclock settings load on startup without UAC verification. Let me tell you, that made me feel like superman. I suppose the issue is that I would have to create new profiles using RivaTuner, and stop using EVGA Precision, then figure out how to make it work at startup with the new program (is that right?). I'm hesitant to do that because RivaTuner looks rather imposing. Maybe over the weekend I'll spend some time with it. Thanks again!
