Bumping this for our fellow GTX 200 Series Peeps..

I still have yet to find the `old way` RivaTuner does the automatic fan control by setting up profiles and thresholds but I've seen the `newer` way and going to try that since I can't sleep

how do i change my auto fan speed in evga precision..?? is it possible to up the speed per degree of temp that it rises..??

at the moment if i leave the fan on auto it wont move hardly...... 70c will only move the fan 2% higher

I've been having this problem in both Folding and farcry 2, in Farcry 2 it will cause the driver to lock up, I will give this a try tonight when I get home from work

Yesterday I worked up the courage to give this procedure a try. Turns out it wasn't as difficult as I thought it was, so thanks again!

Just one follow-on question, though: Is there a way to make sure my overclock, fan, and force performance 3d settings load at Windows startup WITHOUT having to deal with the UAC verification?

Nope! No such luck. This is why I kept using RivaTuner if you want to do that type of things. I know how to do it in RivaTuner now, well sorta, and it does raise and lower fanspeed based on thermal variations however I didnt' like it so went back to pegged 100%

Precision doesn't seem to scale it up at anytime. When I first loaded it and ran it instead of Riva the stock was 40% on my 260 C216 and even going into the mid 60c it stayed at 40% fan

I pegged it 100% from that point and haven't looked back. I have now 2 profiles for overclocking one for F@H and the other stocks speeds for gaming. I keep fan @ 100% and now just choose between those two profiles.

Anything else ask or I'll update with some other info.. maybe how to get the auto speed in Riva working better

Evga precision offers no adjustment to fan speed in relation to core temp but if you set it at say 50% I have found that the card stays below 50 deg. c when folding at 626 core speed.
I kept having trouble with my card, RT solved the down clocking but not the driver crashing so I rolled back from 180.48 to 178.28 and the crashing stopped, I also noticed a dramatic increase in my PPD when folding

has anyone noticed with these new 181.22 drivers that the cards no longer downclock on their own? ...maybe it's just mine

nope its not just you......... my card defaults to full speed after about 5 mins on the 181.22s, i think it was the same with the 181.20s

iu thought it was due to the fact i added a physX card, but obviously not...
