GDDR3 is definitely important. The gap between GDDR2 and GDDR3 is pretty big. Moreso than GDDR3 and GDDR4-5

I don't know what you guys are smoking but the GSO stomps all over the GT.

GSO - 96 SP's vs GT - 64 SP's

I've had 6 GSO's and 2 GT's the GT can't hold a candle to the GSO's

GET THE GSO

Well I do want to save money to hold me over until I can afford one of the newer cards like the GTX 260, and if what Whodie says is correct than at the moment I think I'm leaning more towards the 9600 GSO.

9600GT for sure. The GSO has more stream processors and more memory, but the GDDR3 in the GT will be more important.

Ah, you gotta love the confusion Nvidia makes by releasing tons of similar products with similar numbers.

GDDR5 had 80% more bandwidth than GGDR3 I thought.... Are you saying that GDDR3 has over 80% increase over GDDR2?

theyre about the same, 9600gt slightly wins at some games and loses in some and in vice versa.

however, if ur gonna go sli, 9600gt is always the winner
