Nvidia GeForce 9800GTX+

As you know there hasn't been any threads for this cards yet to discuss with eachother.
allthough it's pretty weird, cuz this card is very populair for the GeForce users.

As its name implies, the GeForce 9800 GTX+ is an improved version of the original GeForce 9800 GTX.
The GPU itself is based on TSMC’s smaller 55-nm manufacturing process, and the 9800 GTX+ runs at higher clock speeds than the GeForce 9800 GTX: 738MHz on the graphics core versus the original 9800 GTX’s 675MHz.
Meanwhile, the stream processors run at 1836MHz, an improvement of 148MHz over the 9800 GTX.
The memory clock speed remains unchanged at 1.1GHz.

There has been just one thing that bugged me when I was going for the 9800GTX+

well I've stepped from the XFX 8600GT XXX to the XFX 9800GTX+

and when I opened the box..

I was like W.tf ~! o.O'


the card is huge, was scared it wouldn't fit in my system.
like 26CM xD..

I have an XFX 9800gtx+ too. Great card, runs far cry 2 on all very high with 2x AA at acceptable framerates.

Runs Pydons Natural Mod for crysis at a steady 40fps too.

Mine runs kinda hot though, 75c under furmark. I think installing a top vent in my case should help, but i'm also going to take off the stock cooler and replace the TIM with MX-2.

75c sounds pretty high to me..

haven't tested mine yet under load..

But guys, anyone had troubles putting the card in a X-gear X-wing case?
my case is Apevia X-plorer now.. so going to buy new case..

I dont think it will fit. Most low-end cases like that are pretty cramped. It may well depend on where you fit your hard drives etc. I would also be wary that the cases cooling might not be sufficient for a high-end system.

Way to take initiative though! What you need to do is to start a "Group" and put the link into your sig & maybe post around a bit more. You'll get some users to pop by
