As the title says, shall I go with my original plan of SLi 9600GT, or sell my current graphics card and scrap the idea of buying another?
Help me decide. I think selling and going for a single slot solution would be not only better on power consumption but performance wise. Something which plays source games at a decent framerate, rainbow six vegas 2, and cod4. INFO; My native gaming resolution is 1024x768, but I don't really care. The higher the better, but nothing lower than 1024x768. nVidia preferably, never really got into ATI. No fanboyism comments please. PRICE; Well assuming i get at least £50 for this card, anything up to £120? 50 GBP = 72 USD 120 GBP = 173 USD (xe.com ftw) UK sites preferred if you want to show me a good deal. Seems in the US you get much better deals.

I say sell it and buy a 4870 1gb off a member here, it preforms better then 9600gt SLI.
![]() I am sure a 512mb will work better then 9600GT sli too. Even more so since you're playing at a lower resolution.

sell it... no doubt... look at the new gts 250's you can get the 1GB SC version from EVGA for like $170(USD) on Newegg.com... so i would sell and get a gts 250...

Would rather not have an ati card, as i said in the thread. Also, I'd prefer an unused card. If I buy used I can't get my money back.

Scrap the whole idea and get either a GTX260/216 superclocked (there is a special over here in the US on these this weekend) or a 1 GB 4870.
Either of those cards will dramatically improve your performance.

so... you game at 1024x768? or you game at higher res's? cos @ 1024x768, something ridiculously cheap like a 9400GT or 9500GT would do..

I already have a 9600GT. So I though upgrading to SLi wouldn't be the worst idea in the world. See below

Your CPU and RAM is bottlenecking your graphics card. I don't think you'll see much of a performance increase by upgrading to a more powerful graphics card since the Pentium D is already bottlenecking the 9600 GT. You should use that money to upgrade the CPU to a C2D and upgrade to 4 GBs of RAM.
