Default +12V@30A enough for this card?

Sooo, the PSU I'm gonna be ordering has 30A on the +12V rail.

Do you think it'll power this with no hiccups: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814143161 ?

It's specifications says it requires 28A on the +12V rail. Is 2A-extra enough headroom? Thanks

What PSU will you be ordering? Quality matters more than quantity.

A good ~12v@24A PSU would be good enough in most cases. That 30A value is only a recommendation.

No problem at all. The 28 refers to entire system not just the card.

9600GT is a 95w GPU. Liked Duckie said, depends on what type of psu. Psu likes Antec EA380 handles your rig easily.

I had my eye on a few PSUs but I'm on a really really really tight budget.
The one I was looking at got an instant rebate recently so I was gonna go for that since it's got decent reviews and sounds reliable from what i've read

I don't need it to last for ages, I just need it to last me several months when I don't have to worry about paying my college tuition. I just need it basically to get my first build off the ground for the time being :P

Yeah, I don't know if I would trust that.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817339025 is a great budget PSU, and 28A on the 12v rail is bunk, even a 380w would fit your needs.

Unless you're a Nvidia Fan Boy its would a smarter buy if you bought a 4830
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814102822

I would say that this is the best bang per buck in this price range

It said it can do 30A on 12v. I dobut it can do that. But should be able to do 260w at least on 12v. Since you are on tight budget and not for long so it should be fine. You can get a better 330w psu such fsp 350w for $33 for egg.
