so i'm really enjoying Prince of Persia, and i finally tweaked it to run at PRETTY settings on my rig. (quality AA, high-res textures, shadows, etc) everything's fine, but when i look at an area of heavy vegetation, my framerate plunges due to the large number of shadows. in every other respect, the game is smooth as butter on my sig rig, but the shadows are a problem.
well, i didn't know what to do, but i already had rivatuner to boost the fan speed on my card while folding. i decided to check and try an overclock. i moved the core clock to 700, the shader clock to 1750, and the memory to 1000 (x2). then i booted back into the game, and lo, my shadows lag was gone! that's pretty nifty. ![]() will doing this harm my card any? anything else you've got to tell a new OCer?

As long as you GPU stays below 100*C you will be fine.
You are not raising Voltage so all you have to worry about is temperatures.

well, i'm currently folding on it, and temps are holding steady at 69c, and 55% fan speed. my PPD has experienced a boost as well

You should get a larger boost in PPD the more you up your Shader clock, just as an FYI.
