Try the simple fix, do the wiggle then tighten on the connector, then maybe a new cable? Also, is there a reset in your monitors settings?

cables are tight, running duel monitor setup main monitor goes black about once every hour right one doesnt change. it happens like an hour apart from each one, just kind of annoying

Vista likes to update nvidia drivers. Could be a driver issue, as well. Most likely though, it does sound like a cable.

From my experience, a DVI cable is a DVI cable. Whether it's made my Monster or whatever, they all give you pretty much the same quality, since it's a digital signal. I used to run high end cables, but now I'm using a $1 DVi cable from a used computer store right down the street and it has worked great pushing 1920*1200 in a harsh environment(machine shop). Anyway, if it is the cable, consider yourself lucky that it isn't the card. don't forget to check your drivers, too. GL

i know theres no difference in what brand/conductor it uses i just mean this is my DVI-D cable and my DVI-I is stowed away in a box somewhere.... at this resolution it probably doesnt matter though
