Default This sound right?

I overclocked my 8800gt from 625/1566/900, to 745/1900/990, which I must say I am pretty happy with because it seems like a nice performance boost. I benchmark it using the farcry 2 benchmark tool and I only gain 1 fps average, 2 fps max, and 1 fps min? Is this just another case of my old cpu bottlenecking my gpu, or is that would I should expect from such an overclock?

Btw I did gain 10 fps in the CSS stress test, which made me happy.

I'd do some 3dmark06 or Vantage runs at stock vs. overclocked to see if you might have a bottleneck issue. What speed is your CPU at? I'd be surprised if you've got a bottleneck if your CPU is at/around 3GHz.

But such a small increase in the FC2 benchmark sounds about right--I mean, you're probably not getting gobs of fps in the first place, so %-wise, a couple of fps could amount to a "huge" increase in performance.

Is your processor at stock or overclocked? If overclocked to what speed?

(link worked just fine) Around 8k in 3dmark06 sounds a bit low--might be due to your CPU. Are you able to overclock your CPU at all? Better way to see what's going on is comparing stock vs. oc'd scores for both the card and cpu--so 4 tests. That would give a better indication of any bottlenecking--but I'd say at 2.5GHz, you are being limited somewhat by the CPU.

Yeah I can't overclock because my motherboard won't let me.
