Default Overclocking locked...

i remember long ago, when i was new to Overclocking, i was going up and up with the Core and memory on the GPU (nvidia 7000M) and i actually got it to

500mhz Core, 500mhz memory,

Stock was 350mhz core, 333mhz memory.

so i was trying to overclock even further, but when i reached to 550mhz, my game (CS:S) spun alot of artifacts and my whole computer crashed.

i restarted, and tryed to overclock my GPU again, but the memory kept saying "0 mhz" and it was stuck. i would try to Overclock the Core, but it would just go back to stock settings.

Is there anyway i could fix it so it could be able to Overclock again?

Welcome to OCN.

I would try removing your drivers then reinstall them, you can do it properly with Driver Cleaner...and also re install Riva Tuner or your OC program, riva will re-build databases in the registry and reset your OC along with the reinstallation of GPU drivers,. Suggest you fill in your specs! That is an old card.

Yeah it is the display driver. More commonly thought of as the graphics card driver. Windows has a basic driver so when you uninstall the old driver you still have a way to use your monitor, just not at the resolution you may be used to.
I usually uninstall drivers with Drive Cleaner Pro like was mentioned, reboot to safe mode and run Drive Cleaner Pro again, reboot again and then install new drivers.

Make sure you only clean nVidia and NOT nForce drivers! The nForce are the MB chipset drivers!

i wonder if the major artifact's might have done something to the card, or if the bios might have a protection lock of some sort.
