Agreed it was, more than double the power of the last gen, and still great cards 3 years later.

The G80 is there with R300, NV10 and Voodoo 1 in epicness

And thank you everyone for liking it, wasnt expected

Nice Post

I went from a Voodoo2->Geforce 2 MX->Geforce 3 Ti 200->Geforce FX 5700 Ultra->Geforce 6600GT->Geforce 8600GT -> GTX275.

It's been a fun ride

The Voodoo2 was by far my favorite card though, when I went from my 4mb Integated Graphics Chip to the Voodoo2, I saw 3D for the first time, and it was amazing. When I first ran Quake II in OpenGL I was AMAZED.... And the biggest benefit of having the voodoo2 back then was being able to run UltraHLE to play N64 games I wish I still had it around to SLI with for fun.

I was a huuuge 3DFX fan back in the day and the reason for the gap from the Voodoo2->Geforce 2 was because I was waiting for the Voodoo5s...
Honestly, the FX5700Ultra was not THAT bad, I actually liked the card a lot

Can't wait till the GT300 series are released though, that will be a nice upgrade, although really the only game that will benefit from it is Crysis (Which I really like) and Cryostasis(which I don't play much), everything else pretty much runs at 60fps+ (GTAIV Included)

I used to have a RivaTNT2, and a GeForce 2 MX at some point, those were the good old days

Holy crap I feel kinda out of place here saying my first nVidia card was an AGP 6800.
First card I remember shoving in a PC was an ATi Rage II. Then came the Voodoos and I entered the DirectX7 with a Matrox G400 MAX. Nuts to nVidia, this card was craaaazy fast. And crazy expensive. So expensive was the PC I built that couldn't afford a new one for a long time and I only just caught the very end of the DX8 era with a Radeon 9000. Went straight to a Geforce 6800 within a few months and have been with nVidia ever since.
