No problem, in the end I'm getting a bit more, and locally so easy-peasy.

BTW, what kind of results are you getting at 4.4ghz? Debating whether upping my clock would be worth it.

At ~4.15 ( I think) and GTX295 at ~650/15/11 I was getting about the same as a Q6600 at 3.5ghz and higher GPU clocks by 50mhz all around (sig link)

I get about 10.89secs in SuperPi 1M, and around a 34,811 CPU score in 3DMarkVantage

"Crazy high" temps for this card would be over 100C. It's a dual GPU card, it's going to get hot.

Good to see you sold the card! I was so tempted to offer up my WCing setup (P120.3, MCP 655 variable control and Fuzion V2 block). But I've been so busy with school, I couldnt even tell you when I would have had time to pull it apart.

I agree. My GPUs get to 87/83 when folding. I've had the card runnin g non stop for almost a week, and it gets toasty in the room. I ordered some MX-2 to reapply the Tim, so we will see how much better the temps can get. I'm also switching out an 8800GT for a PhysX card, so that should reduce the heat inside the case.

just picked mine a few days ago after a second RMA of a HD4870x2...should have made the switch a lot earlier.
the 295 runs sooooo quiet and cool compared to the HD4870x2
haven`t OC`ed it much yet...only running 600 / 1404 / 999 for Folding@home and gaming.

@ Tweex how the heck do you maintain decent temps?

Well I have a ton of air flow going in my case and a lot of it is going right to the 295. I have 4 panaflo 120x38mm playing push pull on my radiator located at the back of my case. I have a 230mm sucking in on the side, right over the 295. A 120x25 located on my adjustable fan bar that is directly venting air from the front of my case to the back across the 295. I have a 80mm tornado fan that is blowing directly on the back plate of the 295. I also have a 230mm venting at the top of my case and a 140mm sucking in at the front. All fans are on a fan controller except the 4 panaflos that are push, pull set-up for the radiator and case venting.

I also have a 80mm fan that I have not mounted yet but will be doing soon that will be replacing the stock NB fan. That stock NB fan blows all the hot air right onto the back plate of the 295 so I am changing it to suck the air off the NB and vent it out through the panaflos and the 230mm venting at the top of my case. To be all honest the loudest thing in my case is the 295 at 100%. Reminds me of a jet engine at full speed.

It's crazy loud I know, I also ordered a Antec Spot Cool, to help with the 295, as it's the hottest temp wise card I've ever owned, even my 2 GTX 280's didn't get that hot. Even with all my fans in there, still gets hot. But dam, I love this card!
