So I'm getting a 295 Co op edition as a step-up from evga. ^_^

What can I clock it to out of the box?

hey guys i got a question,
does anyone know of any mods you can do to lower the temps on the "old" sandwich card?
i've already replaced the TIM with MX2 and also placed a backplate on it.
but i need to lower the temps...there up to 100c now
fanspeed is already on 100%....
Btw, running on 1.2v with 1674Mhz on the shaders for F@H...

You using a high speed fan on that internal bracket in your Antec 1200? That helped me a bunch.

Also, you're probably already doing this but...make sure the card is in the PCI-e slot closest to the socket. If i run my card on the bottom PCI-e slot, it runs about 10C hotter.

Better exhaust fans will help temps too, as the 295 dumps most of its heat into the case. I got a few C drop when i swapped the tri cools for san aces...even undervolted the san aces move way more air.

I think I'm gonna get one of these bad boys to overclock and tinker with. It would go quite nicely with my planned frozen E8600 games and 3dmark01.

Anyone know if the EVGA FTW's are overvolted at stock?

Any links to hard voltmods on these?

How much of a deal do they give you with step ups? And is there anything that disqualifies you from step ups? Voltmods? Aftermarket cooling (water/LN2, etc...)?

Yeah the FTW is overvolted a bit.

For step up, you pay the price listed on EVGA's site, minus whatever you paid for the card you're trading in. As long as the card hasn't been physically modified or has visible water damage, it's good to do.

Also, do realize that step up is only good for 90 days after purchase of the card you're trading in.

That step up is really a phenomenal deal for frequent upgraders.

Now, when are the 300's coming out? Don't want to get burned by the 90 day limit.

i have a Scythe Ultrakaze 3000 on the back of my rad so it's blowing air right over my GTX

also running it in the top PCI-E slot

i tried different exhaust fans but nothing affected my GTX temps

anymore ideas? except running stock volts

Lower ambient temp?

These cards just run hot..especially when over volted. Can you back off even a little on the volts, or will it be unstable?

i can lower the voltage...sure, but then i can't run these shader clocks, and then my F@H points will lower

and i just lowered the ambient
turned on my AC and it dropped the temps to 90c and it was still dropping, but then the card got 2 new work units which don't run so hot, so i'll have to wait till i get the same WU's again so i can see how much it really helped

Just ordered a FTW. Since it's mainly for overclocking/benchmarking I want to stack the deck for good overclocking potential.

Looking forward to batting on the Green team for a change.

My last NVIDIA card was an 8800GT, and I put that in a Dell XPS before I knew what overclocking was.
