I guess there is a big batch of SC's in the wrong packaging out there. (Is that SC specs people are getting?)

So as I had mentioned earlier today this card impressed me before I began to overclock, now that I have finished I found so far a decent amount of headroom. Considering the cost of 289CND for this card and its performance I am happy I decided to move up from the GTX 260 Core 216 SC 55nm. Also this card supports GeForce 3D Vision which in the future might be something worth looking into to.

System Specs are current as shown in my profile (edit:just noticed I forgot to put a load on the CPU for the screenshots lol, please look at the FSB and Multiplier. 2.66GHz vs 3.33GHz)

Test 1 - 3D Mark Vantage

Stock CPU & GPU

CPU @3.33GHz 1.344V & GPU 690/1552/2432 Fan Auto

As you can see there was an increase of about 1000 in the Performance benchmarks giving an end result of P14723. During this test CPU and GPU temps stayed safe with still some headroom left as I did not manually control the GPU fan speed and it did not go above 1950RPM(or about 55%). During this never saw any signs of artifacting so crashes.

Test 2 - Far Cry 2

I have only included results after the overclock as partly this is what I intend to play the game at and I am also a bit lazy after spending a few hours tweaking lol. During each test I set the graphics for "Ultra High" @ 1680x1050 (the full specs are in the images), each run did 3 loops of the test to obtain the average.

1: Ranch Small

2: Playback (Action Scene)

Really surprised me how well this ran considering I am coming from using an 8800GTS 320MB and even there is a noticeable gain over the GTX 260 I used before.

I will be playing some of my fav games tonight to see how things go but thus far it would seem the system is rock solid. The GPU survived ATI Tool for 30 minutes without errors, as well as Prime 95 for 30 minutes without errors. When I have time to leave the system alone for longer I will put it through longer duration just to play it safe. So far though I am one happy GTX 275 Owner

ATItool for 30min is very decent stability. Let us know when you run it a bit longer.

What was your Vantage using the 260 with the whole rig OCed?

With the GTX 260 Core 216 SC installed and the GPU at factory OC levels the store was P9954. This was done using the latest stable drivers and not the beta release drivers used for the GTX 275 (as I did not even know they were around until I found out I had to use them). The GPU score for the 260 was 9823 where as for the 270 it was 12129, even taking into account the drivers I still think this represents a good increase in performance.

I got my vanilla EVGA GTX 275 a few days ago. Stepped up from a GTX 260 for $9 lol. Anyways, I dunno if I wanna watercool it or not. I am selling my dtek block in a bundle with old water cooling parts to a guy on here. So I would need to buy a new block or the Koolance full cover.

Anyone here watercool theirs yet? Can I see pics.

Been slowly working mine up, only afew points every hour or so because it crashed out o me once. 700/1575/1200 thus far, but when I go over it crashes again. Am concerned it might be my PSU, it's a 600watt OCZ stealthxstream, I looked it up and it says it's total current flow across it's 4 rails is 72 amps, which means 18 amps each if my math is right. Do I need to upgrade my PSU for this thing to OC correctly?

If you are shooting for Max clocks, you might have more luck if you have the fan @ 100%

Your PSU should have enough power for the GTX 275, I would let you know the Memory used on the card has very low latency and since your at 1200MHz currently that perhaps could be where your card will top out. As well there are many reviews showing 700MHz as getting close to where the card tops out. If you can run ATI Tool on those settings for a hour or two call it a day as that is a respectable OC for this card.
