my apologies then, personally crysis has always thwarted me.

dx9 is a cake walk for modern gpu's. Get max settings with 40-50 fps in dx10/10.1 then you can say you have conquered crysis.

P.S. The cake is a lie!

It's probably because you're running it on a Quad. Not everyone has Quads, and I know for a fact your card isn't better than half the people here who have trouble.

Also, DX9? Seriously? My 9600GSO could probably do that in DX9.

My 8800GT slight OC at same settings on DX9 got 28 FPS. (1600x1200, All Enthusiast, DX9).

A 9800GX2 only has 512MB of video memory per GPU. When running at resolutions as high as 1600x1200, 512MB of vRAM won't yield the best performance. You should either get a video card with more vRAM, or lower your monitor's resolution.

Looks like all your numbers are off, including the 285 numbers.
Take a look at my GTX/GX2 numbers.
Is your cpu OC'd?
Though I've not noticed any significant WH scaling with an OC.

I would have though this is Crysis (original) hadn't run well but it is. And Crysis Warhead is only a few FPS (2-3 tops) more intensive than Crysis.

What you showed me is DX9 not DX10 (where the problems lies with warhead). Actually, I'm starting to think that Crysis Warhead in DX10 with a 9800GX2 is an epic failure. I'd like to see someone else who has a success with that. (Specifically DX10 and all Enthusiast settings on a 9800GX2).

If anyone has a 9800GX2 can you please run a test for me and see what FPS you get:

Any resolution (Preferably 1280x1024, 1600x1200, or 1680x1050)
DirectX10
All "Enthusiast" settings

Thank you in advance.

BLASPHEMY!!! GTX 285 handles crysis at 1680 X 1050 on max on vista 64bit dx10 with no AA, because i get artifacts, i don't get lag during huge explosions.

The problem lies in the resolution you're trying to play at. You're NOT going to get good performance with a 9800GX2 at a res that high.
