Default XFX 6800 has DDR3 but no pipes to open

Just bought an XFX 6800 256 meg of DDR3. I went to see if I could unlock some pipes and didn't get any H/W masked pipes. I followed the FAQ but still wondering if I missed something. Also I read everywhere else that 6800's only come with plain DDR1 instead of DDR3. But my box, hardware settings and Rivatuner clearly state DDR3 what's up with it?

There are no pipes to open on a 6800GT, all GT's and Ultra's have GDDR3.

Sure they have DDR3 (nu), the PCIX ones. So, you have tried to unlock the pipes but they failed? Hm.. Try getting the newest version of RivaTuner.

OOOHHHH he meant 6800, I thought 6800GT because he said DDR3.

If your card is PCIe, it may be DDR3, and yeah, if it is a nu, you *MAY* be able to unlock 4 pipes.

Well, there are no blan 6800's that have 256, their all 128 I believe. So it was probably a typo on his part.

Yes it is a 6800 "vanilla" with 256 DDR3. Here's the linkage http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814150111

It's weird I know

I read that will at least give the option to unlock those pipes and sometimes they work, sometimes not, but I don't even get the option using the newest version of Rivatuner
