Question XFX GTX 260 vs XFX GTX 275

Hi,

They both are similar prices and same size (896MB) but wondered which is better?

The GTX 275 has more processors but the GTX 260 has higher speeds on everything else.

Which should I buy?
GTX 260 XFX Black edition (Includes Fary Cry 2): http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/896MB...V-plus-FarCry2
GTX 275: http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/896MB...es-2x-DL-DVI-I

Which is better bang for buck?

Thanks for any help.

The 275 is a better card than the 260, i think its deffo worth that little bit extra.

the 260 less streams running faster but the 275 still has more steams....its just a down clocked 285 so...look at the price of them and what clocks it might hit

edit

tenner cheaper on aria http://www.aria.co.uk/SuperSpecials/...roductId=35615

The GTX260 (SP216), 275, 285 are all the same GT200b chip, but The 285 and 275 have all the 240 stream processors enabled, while the 260 has 24 stream processors disabled. The difference between the GTX285 and the GTX275 except for the different clock speeds is the amount of memory bandwith. The GTX275 has a 448bit memory bandwith (just like the GTX260) while the GTX285 has the full 512bit bandwith enabled. This will make the memory transfer rate on the GTX285 a bit faster.

I would go for the GTX275 though and OC that thing .

Here is the chart for performance per dollar. If money isn't an issue, go for gtx275. It is a 219w GPU so make sure the psu is able to handle.

While sharing the same thoughts with someone who wants to SLI two 7100's bothers me, I have to agree with the 275 being better.
