To everybody defending EVGA, I understand that everybody has a different experience with EVGA and it might be too early to "bring out the pitchforks and start hanging them", but when they told GH0 to go ahead and tell everybody on OCN not to buy EVGA products, that is crossing the line; no good company ever does that, EVER.

The customer is always right, no matter how ridiculous the situation, a company absolutely CANNOT be rude and disdainful to the customer.

^^ From most of the posts- It seem that the RMA experience With ANY company- entirely predicates on whether or not you have a positive or negative interaction with their customer support staff.
So...
I do agree that IF EVGA's Customer Service HAS gone downhill
(and as I mentioned in GH0's thread "the comment made by the EVGA rep was absolutely inexcuseable!)

(However- In their defense- from your own quote- is there a faint possibility their reply was in direct response to you already getting a little snotty/huffy?)
("I'm gonna complain on OCN" -"Fine sir; as you wish- whatever you feel you need to do")
(I'm just saying- that's kind of how it read to me)

Moving on...
Maybe
a public "boycott" might at least bring the customer service issue to the attention of somebody that can address the problem at the root of it!
Good thing we have a (senior?) EVGA insider right here on OCN!

(IIRC -When there was the OCN boycott of XFX for similar CS issues- we had a senior XFX rep join up just to allay our fears and tell us something was being done about it
- Maybe That's why XFX has been so easy to deal with RMA-wise of late!

OCN waved our proverbial sabres, possibly rattled their cages, and maybe got the "Boss Man" breathing down the necks of a complacent Customer disservice staff!
So we can always hope the same will be true for EVGA!)

These days- with so much commerce being done over the internet; and the only interaction being conducted electronically via email/IM or phone-

I'm simply amazed how many "major" companies have forgotton the age-old addage "the Customer is always right"!

Some make it a convoluted process of labrynthian proportions - just to actually contact somebody that a) has a pulse; b) speaks the language (literally and technically); and c) cares)
(d) All of the above
is the Holy Grail of all my CS Phone-calls/emails!!
VERY rare indeed!
(except NE )

That's it...
[/IMHO]

Cheers ALL

Who is GHO? Are you saying that they randomly came forth and without provocation said to someone to tell OCN they didn't want our business? How did that jump off?

Winetasting.net, start the poll to change the name!

But seriously, what EVGA did to that guy is totally messed up, and it is even more messed up that they told him to tell everybody not to get an EVGA product, "take this board and shove it". I've never bought something from them before and I definitely won't now.

I am, and if you read the threads that lead up to this, you would understand what this is about.

I think it might have been taken out of context:

So, as a staff from EVGA has told me to do:

PLEASE DO NOT EVER BUY ANOTHER EVGA PRODUCT AGAIN.
Now mind you, I wasn't there, but I'm sure it was implied that if GH0 wanted to post a message to that affect, then he could if he wanted to. True, the rep shouldn't have said it, but context is always key.
