Default my GPU's wont overclock properly

hey with 3 gts 250's in my system i cant overclock them much past stock as it artifacts and i dont really see a boost in performance. does any one have any settings i could try to boost my performance? im seing some videos of other peoples systems on youtube with high 3d mark scores well beyond mine with 3 9800gtx's.

im very jealous lol

If you overclock your CPU to 3.8 or 4GHz (which might not be possible), you will get a huge boost in 3dmark scores.

What is your current score, and what are the rest of the specs of the guy who has beat you with 3 9800GTXs?

Any chance you have something that hurts performance forced in the driver, like AA?

As you are likely aware, 06 is highly cpu-dependent, so yah, there's gonna people with SLI 9800gtx+/gts250's that will beat your score, but it should only happen if they have (considerably) faster cpu's than you.

Vantage, otoh, has very little cpu dependency (on most rigs, for the moment at least), so that's the test I'd focus on for now. Keep in mind, too, that turning phys-x on artificially inflates one's cpu score, which in turn (I believe) boosts the overall score. I don't think a person can post their score on ORB when phys-x is on, but if you are looking other places (like youtube or whatever) just keep that in mind. Also, sometimes the 'system detect' on these tests is inaccurate, so it may be the case where some of the ORB scores you're looking at appear to be 2xSLI when they are actually for 3xSLI.

This being said, the scores do look kinda low to me. Does gpu-z show that you've got 3xSLI in operation? Have you tried re-installing your drivers? Are you using the proper 3-way SLI bridge and not 2x2way SLI bridges (unlikely, I know, but I'm just trying to cover all bases)? Do all three cards reach similar temperatures when running these tests (RT or Precision Graphs are useful for determining this)?

yer gpuz shows all gpus are enabled i am using the 3 way sli bridge and latest drivers i have physx turned on. i cant seem to overclock them at all even a bit past stock clocks and there is less performance for some reason
um there all about the same temps but gpu 1 is allways 10degree hotter

turn off PhysX. It drains performance of the GPU's. Try turning it off. Going back to your BIOS. Reset all settings on the mobo, then tryoverclocking the GPU's with everything else on stock. If It doesn't work then maybe, 1200W should run these card but, you maybe got a Lemon Board or a lemon PSU. For reference please post the maker of you Graphics Cards as this can determine wether they are quality units or generic crap ones.
