Earlier today, I encountered some screen noise, while I watched a video on youtube in fullscreen. I then closed my browser, but i noticed some distortion to my cursor, that would not go away. I then restarted my machine and so far so good.
Is this a bad sign for a 3month GTX285? my idle temps are 43c.

Try underclocking your GPU core clock and see if they go away.

downlad the latest chipset drivers. i know that the gtx card have problems with vids sometimes will even get artifact and a green screen. latest drivers sometimes help. Maybe you could even reinstall them. i dont think is a bad card.

I was just about to post on this, I hope you don't mind me posting here....
__________________This has happened to me Twice, once on Google video and once on Hulu when in full screen flash. The mouse is completely un-recognizable from artifacts and if I try to go into screen-saver or any 3d application the computer freezes over, most of the screen goes black and the remaining pieces of my wallpaper invert colors and saturate to the point they look like cartoons and I must restart my pc. Looks like 16bt color but orange goes pink and everything else is a mess of blue and green etc. The mouse also is offset by 100 pixels so I end up clicking the wrong things instead of shutdown...This has only happened 2 times in about 6 months. The other day I got a thread stuck in graphics processor blue screen shortly after one of my games hung up. I'm starting to worry if my card is defective or overheated. My temps are 40c idle and 67c load. I have scanned for viruses in case it was a infected flash video but and updated my drivers. - Aiden

Only two things I can think about are infected flash videos or a harmless random error. First time I hit screen saver by mistake I thought I had lost my pc because everything was just completely messed up. Make sure you use the keyboard to shut down because the mouse is annoying. I have checked EVGA and Nvidia's websites. I will try searching their forums. I remember that before the problem I see scan lines and static lines all over the video before I exit full screen wich is not really possible for an LCD to do on its own unless the graphics card rendered them.
