Default 260 not loading

My GPU turns on with the computer but doesn't boot up the screen. I can hear the background music playing but when i connect the VGA to my motherboard, it works fine.
What is wrong with my 260?
or is it the motherboard? it's designed for crossfire but does that really affect what single card is being used?

It sounds like the board and graphics card aren't co-operating

Edit : What onboard graphics do you have.

I know the problem now, your motherboard has ATi onboard graphics, and your trying to install an Nvidia card.Vista doesn't allow for 2 drivers for video cards

no need to change mobo, just uninstall the ati drivers and use driver cleaner pro. Then install the nvidia drivers.
