First Time Build

Hi all.
I've just tried OCing my Core clock through EVGA precision to 700, and furmark just ran perfectly for 2 mins. Then crashed. What would you guys say is a realistic OC? Kris

I've been able to get my GTX 260 216 SSC's to 750 and they run flawlessly.

I'd say that 680-700 core 1450-1500shader, depending on fan speed and temp. Your really going to be limited by the shader first due to temp. That will then limit your core. Higher clocks are possible, but what I listed should be doable with most cards.

Unlink your shaders, and OC one clock at a time. At least 90% of the time you can get a higher core clock with shaders unlinked.
Also, if Furmark is actually crashing, you are way over your max OC. But if your shaders are linked, that's probably the issue. Also, even if furmark is stable, it doesn't mean games will be stable. Once you settle on a given OC, try running 3dMark and Crysis benchies ... that will separate the men from the boys, as they say. I think just about all 260's will hit something like 648/1458, I'd prolley start out there. And remember all three clocks operate on straps (shaders for example operate on increments of 36MHz for the 55nm cards), so use the graphs in rivatuner or precision so you can see what the actual clocks are ... cause whatever you set on the sliders is only an approximation of what they are actually running at.

I can run 35DMark/vantage/FurMark with no problems with the overclock in my sig (linked clocks)
