I dont have/notice any artifacts in game... I just ran it for like 17 minutes with that setting enabled and didnt get the dot.

Give GPUTool Community Technology Preview 1 a shot.. its by the same guy who made ATITool

I just got GPUTool... But i dont like how its overriding my EVGA precision fan control. Any way to disable that?

EDIT: I dont like GPUtool. :/
