Just a thought. I had some game with abnormal speed issues and I either had to force 32-bit, or something along those lines, or disable CPU cores for that game. I can't remember how, and for the life of me can't find the solution again online. I would try changing the compatability mode, and if that doesn't work, run the game, open your task manager, right click on the game's exe, and then "set affinity" and deselect one of your cores: cpu1, rather than cpu0.
Just saw that.

I had the same problem. I figured out that GRID cannot run SLI, and HDR hardcore lags your comp. Especially on 24 Hours of Le Mans, i noticed when it went from daytime to night my computer would start to hardcore lag.
__________________This could help. Turn off the HDR. It wont look as pretty but it will run a lot better for GRID. http://www.gamespot.com/pc/driving/r...434&pid=939158

I don't have any problems with HDR in GRID, and an 8800 GT Should be enough to push OP's 19" LCD monitor

You may not. 8800GT sounds like enough but I turned mine off and now the game runs better. I dunno its worth a shot though.

I Had This Problem With My GTS 250 that it was running Assassin's Creed about 100 fps and lags like hell but i sold it 3 days ago and got a Toxic 4890 and the Problem Is Gone ... I think It Is a Driver Issue and hope that Nvidia Fixes it

My CPU never goes over 35C so I doubt that's the issue. However, I think it may have something to do with the variable cpu speed, as mine doesnt always stay at the same clock. Unfortunately, I think I might be screwed if that's the issue. Dell's POS BIOS won't let me access any further options on my cpu other than disabling the 2nd core.
My card is more than capable of running the game at 60fps even with everything maxed /w 4xAA. Right now though, it looks like my only option is to get a Different card to test the issue out with. Thanks for the responses everyone, much appreciated.

Have you tried disabling AA? I recently had a problem in Garry's mod using CSAA16xHQ (highest setting of Anti Aliasing) where the game still runs at 200+ FPS yet it lagged, skipped, and was choppy. I turned it down to 8xCSAAQ and it was fine, but running at only 50 FPS more?
Needless to say, I think its a small bug
