I have a 9800gt that I just took out and clean to make sure of no blockage in the cooling, and I noticed that the sticker on the fan was coming off so I took it off and low and behold it said OC on it. so apparently I have the 9800gt OC edition by BFG. great company ****ty cooling, I play alot of steam games which this video card is more then able to exceed the max on the games I play cs:s, team fortress, cod4 and 5, but the problem I run into is I dual boot xp and vista because I figured since vista was crashing while playing any game ran through steam that running it on xp might cure the problem, wrong my video card crashes worst. any have any Idea's?

If the GPU fan is clean, the card isn't overclocked and it is crashing in all games, it may be time to RMA the thing.

Hey i got a mate that has the same problem, he has a 650 watt power supply too thou its an unknown brand to me, i reckon its the power aye, cuz when we play old games its all good, then when we play crysis it dies, the pc never gets really hot but maybe its a heat issue, correct me if im wrong, but the 9800GT is an over clocked 8800GT.

G92 chip practically the same. I fixed the problem in vista because I havea sound blaster X-fi that had the wrong driver but in xp it still does the same alouth in vista it has really cleared up
although I have plenty of power and what is wierd is the games like crysis and farcry2 and fallout3 dont have any problems but when I play css or team fortress or cod or prototype it will freeze and let me play again but in xp it just crashs in need of restart.
