For your current setup you have now in your sig? Might be worth it but a CPU upgrade would be better off first or else that card is going to bottleneck it.

Hmm a bit overpiced vs performance. Might see simular perforance with two cards sli or cross fire

there is a deal going on dell gtx 260 $120 shipped
http://www.overclock.net/online-deal...216-896mb.html

So two gtx 260 sli
$250~

or even a HD 4850x2
OR 2 HD4850 crosfire
$250~

But it is really a personal decision. So if you think the price is worth the performance to you then go for it. If not there are plenty of used card on sale in the for sale section.

well, the main concern I have is that most 295GTX's show HDMI via a dongle and I'm wondering if that's the case with all 295's?

Thinking of going sli (technically making a quad setup) with an i7 as the cpu

hmm hdmi is a good think with video cards. But just to let you know before hand there are some issues with getting anything past 5:1 audio output through hdmi.

There are other video cards that offer hdmi output

But to answer your question it seems like most 295 offer hdmi output.

But yes if that is your route with a i7 setup with that video card should blow all single videocard setup out of the water.

I just made some suggestions for some cheaper routes in my previous post that will offer close performance for about half price.
